Sound starts when you touch the circle. Play along with the keys A, S, D, F and G.

A small browser demo made with Web Audio, not the sound of the plugins. Turn a dial by dragging up or down, or with the arrow keys. Skyrmion: closed beta, opening soon. Orbital, Holon and Spinon are in development. None is on sale yet.

Key Step Filter

Draw a pattern. The filter plays a melody in your key. Every step snaps to your scale, so a plain pad, bass or loop turns into a tune.

Always in key

  • 12 keys and 16 scales
  • Steps, LFOs, lanes, the envelope and the delay all go through the same lock
  • Detect: play your track and it suggests the key it hears
  • Key wheel with a Walk that moves the key while the song plays

Sequencer and lanes

  • 1 to 32 steps, synced rates with triplets and dotted, swing
  • Forward, reverse, ping-pong or random
  • Per step: curve, repeats, probability, skip
  • Lanes with their own length, so patterns drift against each other

52 filter models

  • Four originals (Ladder, Multimode, SVF, tuned Comb) and 48 circuit models
  • Low-pass, band-pass, high-pass and notch where the model has them; 12 or 24 dB
  • No clicks when you switch model while it plays
  • A limiter keeps the loudest resonance below -0.3 dBFS

Delay and modulation

  • A delay that stays in key, three ways
  • Two LFOs with 37 waves, or draw your own
  • Envelope follower, filter envelope, 4-slot modulation matrix
  • Export the melody as a MIDI file

AR-K AUDIO makes plugins that stay in key. They are built on one shared core.

AR-K AUDIO started in the studio, not in a meeting room. Making music, we kept running into the same thing: great plugins that have no idea what key your song is in, and no idea the other plugins exist. A filter that ignores the melody. A sequencer that plays the one wrong note at the best moment of the track.

So we started building our own. AR-K plugins work from a key and scale you set, so whatever they do, a filter or a melody, they stay on your notes. Under all of them sits one shared core, so they share one look and one way of working. Skyrmion is the first.
